So it begins…

As soon as school gets going so does all the activities.  Zoe started soccer again this week and both girls will start tennis lessons on Sept. 8th.  India is still going to the Tutoring Club once a week and school started for me on Monday also… so we once again are busy, busy, busy.

Here are some pictures from Zoe’s soccer practice on Monday…

My girls, my little, cute, fun, wonderful, girls, are growing fast. Way too fast. I wish they would slow down, just a little. Today was open house at their school. India is now in 4th grade and Zoe is in 2nd grade!!!! School starts Monday and they are all ready and excited to get going. Their teachers seem nice and they both have a few friends that moved to the same classroom…. but man they are growing fast…. I mean seriously, 4th and 2nd graders….

Sad, very very sad.

My husband forwarded this story home to make sure that we didn’t have any dog toys like this around our home. For all of you dog owners out there, this is very sad, so be prepared, but I thought it might be a good idea to pass on the info in case any of you have the same toy at home.  Please read the article and spread the word, I would hate for this to happen to any other pups and their families.

We’re Baaaaack.

Finally home after a long, very very fun, week away. We had a wonderful time on vacation and are all kind of sad to be back. The girl’s had a blast with Aunt Jodi, Uncle Joe and their cousins and we were able to spend some time with Clara on her 14th birthday. Next vacation, November or December, off to Disneyland.

DAY 1- Monterey Bay Aquarium

DAY 2- Exploratorium in San Francisco

DAY 3, 4, and 5- Sausalito, Muir Beach, and Napa Valley

DAYS 6, 7, and 8 Lake Tahoe

Happy 14th Birthday Clara Bear- We love you!

Thank you Jodi and Joe for sharing your home and your family with us! We’ll miss ya, but at least we have November!!!!

Happy Birthday to ME!!!

I know it’s a bit early for a birthday celebration considering my birthday isn’t until December, but holy hell it feels like a party!!! I’m leaving for vacation in 3 days and I got my Kindle in the mail yesterday. We head out to Monterrey early, really early, Friday morning to visit the Monterrey Aquarium. We are going to the Exploratorium, Sunday in San Francisco, Monday were in Sausalito, just to be tourists, and then Monday (evening)-Wednesday in Napa. The last 3 days we are in Lake Tahoe with Tony’s sister and her family. I CAN’T WAIT!!!!!!! Seriously, the excitement is K I L L I N G me. Tony and the girls are just about as wired.

Present for Denise #2 my wonderful new Kindle. I LOVE it. It stores many, a lot, tons, too many to count books of my choice on it…. so perfect for said vacation. I have downloaded 5 books so far and it took less than 5 seconds. No longer will I need to pack 5 or 6 big bulky books for a trip and the damn thing fits in my purse perfectly. I’m in HEAVEN. I can listen to MP3’s on it, read newspapers and blogs, and buy books wherever and whenever I want without an internet connection. Seriously, this thing kicks ass.

Right now I am somewhat obsessed with what I’m reading, so the timing is perfect.

I just started reading the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer and I really like it so far. The reviews have been back and forth and I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I’m really enjoying it. I started book one on Thursday and I’m currently in the middle of book three. I’ll let you know what I think after I finish book 4, but so far so good.

I guess that’s enough of my randomness….

Reading makes me smile.

I just purchased a Kindle from Amazon.com and I am so wickedly excited that I want to scream (but I’m at work and that would not go over very well.) It will be here Monday, so I will play a little with it and then let you know how it is!!!!! Just in time for our trip… now I won’t have to pack 5 or 6 books… just the Kindle. Yay.

Boring Me.

I haven’t posted a thing in a week or so… but I seriously have had nothing to say.  At all.  Which is weird because normally I can talk just about anything, just for the fun of it.  I’m very dull this week.  I have been really really busy at work. I’m learning new stuff.  It’s okay,  not what I signed on to do, but they’re paying me, so I’ll do the work.

Sunny (our golden retriever) needs surgery again, this time the other shoulder.  It’s pretty sad, she’s only 2 and she limps a lot.  I just feel bad, but hopefully this next surgery will get rid of the pain.  She’s such a great dog.  I just want her to live a happy, long, pain free life.

We finished planning and booking hotels for our trip to Northern California.  We are ready to go.  The kids are excited.  10 days.  We are doing a serious count down now! Yay!!!!

On a very sad note, Michelle and her family lost their very special puppy Nickle Pickle.  He’s been part of their family for a long time and loved so very much.  Sorry guys, we know how much you loved him and how much you’ll miss him.  I’m thinking about you all.

This past weekend we went to my parent’s cabin in Utah.  It was nice and relaxing and the dogs and kids ran wild.  We were only there for the weekend, unfortunately, but it was a pretty damn good time.

Planning to run away.

Oh yes I am!!!!  Of course, I plan on taking my girls and the husband along with me.  Because what’s the point in running away from those three.  I would be bored out of my mind.  We are heading to Northern California for 10 or so days before the girls start school again in August.  I Can’t wait!!  We are hitting Monterey, Carmel, Sausalito, Napa and then ending the trip in Lake Tahoe with Tony’s sister and her family.  I can’t think of a better trip or a better way to end the trip!  I’m so very very very very excited.  Can you tell?
